Then head out to our patio where the Science Center will have solar telescopes, solar binoculars, eclipse glasses and more for you to check out and view the sun safely (weather-permitting). Bring your friends and family to 515 for an educational afternoon.
But wait, there's more!
On Monday, August 21st, join the Science Center of Iowa on the West Terrace of the Iowa State Capitol Building to view a not-to-be-missed partial solar eclipse. There you will experience near-darkness in the afternoon and get great solar views as the Moon passes between our Earth and the sun. Join the "I Survived the ApocEclipse" after party at 515 after the eclipse. Open from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m.

Looking for a relaxing afternoon with friends and family? Grab some games or borrow some of ours and stop in. We have delicious beer to accompany your fun afternoon and root beer/soda for the younger set. Want to receive 1/2 off your first beer during Board Game Sunday Funday (BGSF)? Purchase a new game, comic or trade paperback at Mayhem Comics the week before BGSF and show us your receipt.
Second Monday of Every Month
6:00 - 6:30 Check-in (teams of 4 or smaller)
6:30 Trivia begins
Grab some friends and join us for a free trivia night at 515. Hosted by our very own taproom staff, it is sure to be a fun time with interesting questions and categories. Prizes will be awarded. (Get there early to make sure you have a seat. No reservations available.)
Some months we add a charity twist. As the day gets closer, be sure to check out the left side of this page for information on which charity we are supporting and how you can help.
515's BOTTLE SHARE NIGHT
First Wednesday of Every Month, 6 – 9 p.m.
Once a month, 515 hosts a bottle share. For those of you unfamiliar with bottle shares, they are gatherings of craft-beer lovers where each attendee brings a bottle of a rare or favorite beer to share.
Pick up a bottle or two of beer (If the beer you want to bring is 12.7 ounces or less, bring two bottles/cans.) and join other beer lovers for a fun event.
Bottle share is always the first Wednesday of the month at 6 p.m. (The bottle share is moderated by craft beer super fan, Steve Wren.)
STITCH 'N B-TCH
Second Wednesday of Every Month, 6 – 9 p.m.
A "Stitch 'n B-tch" is a group of knitters and crocheters who get together on a regular basis to stitch and, well, you know. All Stitch 'n B-tch gatherings are open to the public and free of charge. Come and go as you are able. Friend to 515 and yarn-lover, Savannah, is the host of Stitch 'n B-tch.
Whether you’re a regular or it’s been awhile since you’ve picked up your needles and hooks, join us to tackle that project you’ve been meaning to get to. Locally-made craft beer is on tap, and you’re welcome to bring your own snacks.
DRINK & DRAW
Third Wednesday of Every Month, 6 p.m.
This social gathering of doodlers, sketchers and bonafide artistic types is what it says it is. You drink and you draw. However, for ours, you will not need any actual artistic ability.
Come hang out and talk art, comic books, games or whatever pop culture ridiculousness is on your mind. Some months will have a theme, and prizes will be awarded for those who draw.
515 fan and artist, Carter, is the host of Drink & Draw. This event is sponsored by Mayhem Comics and Games.
